The homeowner had a small, not very functional deck that they wanted to replace with a much larger outdoor living space. After discussing design ideas with DBS, the customer decided to build a 45-degree angle, composite deck with a large vaulted, knotty pine, tongue and groove ceiling, and recessed can lights. The homeowner also wanted to incorporate a custom, wood-burning, stucco fireplace, which features two built-in areas for wood storage. To complement the home and provide privacy in the seating and hot tub area, DBS built three stucco half-walls, which allow access to open-air but still keeps out prying eyes. To assure maximum functionality, we added a glass wind-break and built-in steps with lighting around the hot tub. This ensures that the homeowner continues to have unobstructed views and the greatest usability.
