TimberTech Deck with Trex RainEscape System
The homeowners had an old redwood deck that was failing; it was actually sagging in some areas. They knew it needed to be replaced as soon as possible for safety reasons. Based on our clients' desire, we designed a new outdoor living space for them, incorporating design elements that are unique to their specific tastes. The decking is TimberTech Legacy Tigerwood, laid at a 45-degree angle. By moving the stairs to the side, we were able increase the size of the deck, but not the footprint. We used the Fortress Fe26 Axis Horizontal Infill steel railing with 2-inch posts and flat pyramid post caps for a unique element. We also added a Trex RainEscape system, allowing the owners to create a new, separate outdoor living space below the deck. The flat ceiling includes two can lights, and is done in tongue and groove Blue Stain Pine stained with PreservaWood's transparent Tamarack Brown. Below the deck on one side is a new privacy wall that was built with the same material as the ceiling. We completed the outside of the wall with lap siding to match the house. Our clients are thrilled with their new custom deck and extra outdoor living space below!
