Functionally, the homeowner wanted her new bathroom to have no tub, a larger shower, more storage and better lighting. Aesthetically, she had two important requirements: to be transported to the beach and to hear the sound of water.

The highlight of the design is a water feature. We incorporated it in the vanity area by furring out a part of the wall. This created the room's focal point highlighted with stacked stones and bracketed by full height mirrors with drilled through light fixtures. The floating white vanity with under cabinet lighting helps to draw the eye to the water feature. Cocada Blue Polished Quartzite countertop with it's creamy/grey/blue color and embedded elements that look like found sea glass amplifies the beachy feel.

Removing the tub, allowed the inclusion of a floating bench and for a larger shower. The shower walls are clad with highly variegated weathered wood look porcelain tiles and accented with white, blue and grey wavy glass tiles. Flat pebbles on the shower pan provide a tactile shower experience. The bathroom floor of wide planked weathered wood look porcelain tiles complement the shower walls and provide the perfect transition from the vanity area to the shower area.

Surrounded by the sound of water and the well curated design elements, the bathroom has transformed into a soothing beach-like escape.
