Party in the Kitchen- espresso and white uber-functional kitchen

Working in conjunction with interior designer Amy Storm, this under-utilized space was transformed into a stylish and uber-functional kitchen. At the top of the list for this family was more countertop space and a gracious space more suited to frequent entertaining. And, because the former working kitchen comprised only a third of the 300 s.f. space, hosting get-togethers meant cobbling makeshift tables in the center of the room and overburdening limited counter space. A complete overhaul was definitely warranted.
The revised kitchen features an entertainment zone for beverages and display, a casual seating area at the dramatic island, and compact family seating at a built-in banquette; thanks to the vision and finishes proposed by interior designer Storm and kitchen specialist, Deb Bayless. Details include a wood hood, chunky island posts, mullion doors, mirrored backsplash and handsome pendants; lending a finished, furniture look to this otherwise hardworking kitchen. A bulletin board, beverage center, hidden banquette storage, and recessed pantry all attest to the functionality of this common area. Beautiful and functional, this kitchen gives new meaning to the party is in the kitchen.
