This 1920's cottage had endured its share of remodeling and, although perfect for a lake getaway - fronting Lake Michigan - it lacked a functional kitchen and large eating area. By building one wall out, we were able to add more wall cabinets and worktop in a convenient U-shape. An area for serving casual buffet-style meals sits opposite the cooktop while the balance of the major appliances are grouped in an appliance wall. A counter-depth refrigerator, beverage center, coffee station, microwave and wall oven keep guests happy while the cook concentrates on putting a meal together. Staggering the depth of wall cabinets allows for shallow display areas and keeps clear the gorgeous view of Lake Michigan; making for a great getaway.
