Ritz Residences Palm Beach
-Renovation of waterfront high-rise residence
-To contrast with sunny environment and light pallet typical of beach homes, we darken and create drama in the elevator lobby, foyer and gallery
-For visual unity, the three contiguous passageways employ coffee-stained wood walls accented with horizontal brass bands, but they're differentiated using unique floors and ceilings
-We design and fabricate glass paneled, double entry doors in unit’s innermost area, the elevator lobby, making doors fire-rated to satisfy necessary codes
-Doors eight glass panels allow natural light to filter from outdoors into core of the building
-Add unique light source in powder room with back-lit, floating counter and sink cut from a single slab of vein-cut vanilla onyx
-Most of residence has glass doors, walls and windows overlooking the ocean, making ceilings the best surface for creating architectural interest
-Raise ceiling heights, reduce soffits and integrate drapery pockets in the crown to hide motorized translucent shades, blackout shades and drapery panels, all which help control heat gain and glare inherent in unit’s multi-directional ocean exposure (south, east and north)
-Patterns highlight ceilings in major rooms and accent their light fixtures
-Reconfigure kitchen, define it with a coffee-stained wood surround, which frames white cabinetry
-Construct back-lit floating soffit above kitchen island, add 3-dimensional backsplash wall and place coffee bar and appliances behind cabinet doors
-Create state-of-the-art home office where CEO can seamlessly work while away from corporate office
-Add bookcase wall behind desk with integrated “hidden door,” giving CEO quick, private access between informal family area and formal office where he meets business associates
-Reconfigure master bath walls, plus move and change shower walls to glass to allow natural light to flow throughout both HIS and HER sections
-Change cramped corner tub to soaking tub on spacious, elevated platform, greatly enhancing the experience and view
