After completing a new construction weaving studio higher up on the same site, the clients were determined to remodel the existing cabin located lower down the slope from the new studio. Working the landscape with a series of angled concrete volumes; a strong association is created between the new and the old. The concrete forms suggest entry, connection, and flow in a firm yet subtle way.

To tie the remodel to the weaving studio, the same steel panel roofing/siding material was used. Without changing much about the fundamental layout of windows, doors, and walls this cabin has been given a contemporary look that takes better advantage of the space both inside and outside of the cabin.
