Shepherd's Lane Residence: Bathroom 1
This narrow bathroom widens out towards the end, where the shower area is situated. It is only 54" wide at the vanity but almost 80" at the shower. To facilitate a smooth movement of the eye, we used shiplap on the walls until the point where the room widens and subway tile after that. Our use of the herringbone floor tile gives the illusion of more width with its zig-zag pattern. We gave the room a white sink vanity with shaker cabinets and a slatted bottom shelf. The white countertop and backsplash feature dual undermount sinks with wall-mounted faucets. The vanity is paired with two angled mirrors with a metal frame and industrial lighting. In the narrow glass-enclosed shower area we installed a wall-mounted floating marble shower bench which does not take up floor space. A niche in the wall provides a space to store bath accessories. The statement art piece above the toilet stands out in the monochromatic space. We brought in nature with potted plants.
