As the design of the Strawberry Hills Farmhouse progressed from concept to reality, it became clear that it had begun to adopt some of the nordic sensibilities from our design team's recent design trip to Iceland. The designers traded cavernous non-usable spaces for more intimate conversation pockets—a feature more typical of a classic farmhouse-style home. While each room carries a "more is more" attitude, layering multiple textures, colours and finishes, the overall structure gives the home a more pared down, 'nordic farmhouse' feel, relying heavily on organic materials to bring warmth and depth to the home.
