West Coast Modern Custom Home

Creating a home for resale can often pose challenges when it comes to creating a space that has equal parts personality and sell-ability. By incorporating West Coast architecture and Scandinavian minimalism, the Studio team created a stylistic foundation that, although subtle, definitely does not lack character. The six foot, white enamel ceiling fan partnered with the kitchen's custom-made, oversized stainless hood vent adds drama to the neutral palate of the home. Each of the home's five bathrooms was designed unique from each other but with an over-arching concept - "simple is not synonymous with boring". The home was fully designed and decorated by the Studio team, working weekly along side the builder and the many trades. Infusing personality long before decorating, the team used lighting fixtures, stone, tile and wallpaper to give each room a unique feel. Features such as the spice kitchen, oversized linear fireplace and open-air master bathroom are as important at the matte black plumbing fixtures, hand-chiseled wall tiles and cascading thirteen-foot glass orb chandler. As the west coast style continues to become more popular throughout Vancouver, it was the Studio's mission to have a space that was as current as it was timeless.
The house was marketed as fully furnished and chosen pieces all shared an eclectic-modern-global vibe, not giving in to the more typical and expected lifeless interior of a show-home.
