The clients had an underutilized covered porch and wanted to create a sunroom/ family room that would bring natural light into the kitchen and existing living room. We took out the existing internal deck stair and incorporated the new circulation into a built-in bench and planter. This allowed for plantings outside the large existing picture window and defined the space for the new brick patio and grill area. Sun shades were added to protect the new large expanses of glass from the sun and the materials used in the sunshades were echoed throughout the project.
