A fully-integrated interior penthouse in bleached black walnut. Designed by Suyama Peterson Deguchi architects. This project features a extremely high amount of detail and integration between different installations, built-ins, and furniture. Every room has slip-matched walnut veneers all the way around. The walnut was hand-selected be the architect and all came from one tree for maximum uniformity. The slip-matching means that no single flitch of veneer could be flawed, or the entire room would have needed to be re-made. As near-perfect as casework and cabinet building can be.
