Some projects require thorough design exploration and detailed visual presentations to achieve the desired outcome and to develop a crystal clear guidance for the contractor to perform the work.
This home in Milford, CT is one of those projects. Besides full Kitchen Remodel, customers wanted to open up the space to bring more light and to achieve more dramatic feel. With various ceiling shapes and heights in every room, such a task presented quite a challenge. We have created a scaled 3D model of the existing house in computer and then explored multiple options to modify the space. Final concept featured enlarged doorways on the main level and three rectangular openings in the walls above. Wood railing on the stairs was replaced with glass panels to provide a clear view to the loft. The house became light and airy with no obstructions to the gaze from any point of view. To add even more drama, all windows in the Sun Room were extended lower to the floor. It opened up a spectacular view to the in-ground pool on the back porch inviting the Nature into the house.
