A Steep Hillside Transformed!

A steep hillside home in Minnesota is transformed into an entertainers backyard with a variety of pavers and well chosen shrubs and annuals. This project won a design award from the Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Association.

The stone path splits taking you either into the woods or down by the firepit on the lower paver patio. There are three retaining walls...the lowest wall is a boulder, the next two are modular block.

Side Yard Access - Landscaping Stones And Pavers
This walkway, constructed of pavers and modular wall block takes guests and neighbors to the newly-created backyard space, complete with fire pit and outdoor dining space. At night, low-voltage lighting just under the walls caps illuminate the steps for safety....besides adding to the ambiance.

This front entrance was created to be inviting and warm for a couple that likes to entertain. More homeowners are opting to put patios and porches at the front of the home. This one usually prompts spontaneous visits from the neighbors.
