Brentwood Colonial

A new client called and said that she needed help with exterior paint colors for her 1930s Colonial home. Once I walked into the house I could see that it needed much more than paint. Some of the areas had been remodeled in the 80s and the original character of the home had been washed away. I started out slowly, did a color scheme for the exterior, luckily she loved it so then I made my way to the interior and began to remodel and furnish certain areas. I created a new paint scheme for the entire home turned my client on to mid-century furnishings. We mixed traditional wall coverings, antique tiles, colorful fabrics, and created a painterly environment that my client and her family enjoyed.

The house is eclectic, fanciful and full of life. Originally my client was afraid of color, everything was white and after some convincing, she allowed me to paint the walls and the trim with a Fauvist color palette. Once we finished her home she told me that the color transformed her life and she then began to dress in color as well.
