Emmerson College in Hollywood is a film and media-based school the architecture designed by Thom Mayne. There is a lot of metal and use of cold materials in this building, I was called in to warm the place up and give it some life. We had to be economical although well-designed pieces that would complement the architecture as well as the color scheme of the school. I worked on the reception areas, the president's office, as well as other private offices and all of the outdoor areas for school assemblies, performances, and large parent-student events. The price point had to be economical but carry a lot of pizzazz, the furnishings gave it life and vitality and created a happy surrounding for the students.
