Originally a small 1930s ranch home remodeled and added on to in the late 70s. When I met my clients I immediately thought that we need to open up and lighten the space it was dark and foreboding. We painted out the dark ceilings and used a palette of soft Farrow and Ball colors on the walls, we created a warm living and open entertainment areas with a cozy family room filled with books and a fireplace. I custom-designed furniture for the space and combined it with rustic wood tables and brass lamps. I wanted the mood lighter and at the same time I wanted the essence of the rustic canyon to ring through.
