The Camp Street Residence began as a simple deck, and evolved into an 800 sf second floor addition to house a new master suite which would include a bedroom, bathroom, and closet. The design reduced massing of the addition to its purest form, continuing the lines of the existing roof and removing the ceiling to create a single space with maximum height. Dividing the building in two, the design situates the master bedroom on one side with the master bath and balcony on the other and incorporates large windows in the master bedroom to capitalize on the northern light.
