Cape First Floor Remodel Wallingford CT

These homeowners of a 1940s cape needed more space in their kitchen but there was an awkwardly located half bathroom! They were willing to use space in the adjoining office to move the bathroom and have the entrance from the office.
We also relocated the window on the driveway side to accommodate additional cabinets and a space for coats and shoes.
Our kitchen designer Daryl Zorn of Bender Showroom in New Haven created the layout. The homeowners made their cabinet and fixture selections during their visit to Bender.
Once the materials were in-house, we started the project which took approximately seven weeks.
The homeowners love the results and we do too!

This remodeled kitchen included moving a half bathroom 5 feet to add more space to the kitchen.

The refrigerator moved to a new location, the stove is on the opposite side of the room now and this fabulous peninsula was added with seating on the living room side.

Overall, we created much more space in this kitchen and the first floor. The large drawers for dishware, an enlarged opening into the living room, a new closet in the office, and the drop zone by the back door.

The window was raised to accommodate additional cabinets in this kitchen. The area for coats and shoes was added at the end of the project. I love the shiplap!

The relocated bathroom makes more sense and gave us the space we needed for the kitchen! The shelving below the sink makes the space appear bigger than it is!
