Carson City, NV - Scandi Light
With a focus on simplicity and function, this Scandanavian-inspired design in the Sierra Nevada is a light-filled and minimalistic space.
The space is open and breezy with bright white walls. The kitchen and living area design is simple and clean with light wood, light countertops and textured tile backsplash, and white light fixtures and bar stools. In the separate dining room, a standout modern pendant sets off the space like a piece of art. A beautiful custom built bar along one wall with glass upper cabinets doors, a Neolith countertop and an intricate tile backsplash completes the elegant space.
In the master bathroom, double and separate vanities give the couple each plenty of room in the spacious bathroom. The white freestanding tub in between creates a spa-like setting amidst the light-toned, monochromatic hues and dangling smoked glass sconces. The tub sits against two large windows, maximizing the use of natural light. Additional windows way up high near the extra-high ceilings let in even more natural light. We designed the open-shelf vanities with eco-friendly Neolith basalt countertops and shelving and added a touch of nature with a leaf mosaic backsplash for an interesting accent, while still keeping to the stripped color palettes inherent in Scandinavian design. The custom vanities are modern and sleek, pairing well with the simple flat-panel custom wood cabinetry and straight polished nickel cabinet pulls. The off-size, 6x24 faux wood tile flooring compliments the other tile finishes, a blending of the light tones and woods. The white vessel sinks mirror the tub style and the contemporary wall-mounted faucets, bath accessories and shower fixtures in a brushed nickel finish complete the clutter-free design. We selected antique limestone for the shower walls and flooring and used the leaf mosaic vanity tile as a shower accent, keeping a cohesive look.
The powder and guest baths keep with the same monochromatic look with the floating open shelf vanities and are equally stunning, accented with eye-catching light fixtures, patterned tiles, white penny tile mirror surrounds, and vessel sinks.
