Century Home Makeover
This century home was given a makeover to make it look up-to-date while retaining its natural, country charm. In the foyer, penny tiles were used to lend a vintage feel, and the original railing was repaired, preserved and given a fresh coat of paint. Shaker cabinetry, "school-house" island lights, hand-painted subway-tile backsplash, and wide-plank, wire-brushed flooring added to the "original" look of the space. The accent colours used throughout were various, co-ordinated, sea-greens which livened up the space but also lent an authentic look to the feel of yesteryear. The overall result is the look of a new space, while retaining all the charm of the old.
