Coastal Living Area
The awkward space was corrected by moving the entry to the main balcony at the front of the home. The new distressed driftwood flooring and updated lighting brought new life to the drab space. We anchored the new seating area with a gray sculpted 8' round rug adorned by two fun geometric swivel gliders. A carved driftwood and linen accent ottoman gave a place to throw your feet up and relax. The hammered aluminum and wood top accent table was the perfect complement to the new cozy nook. To finish the overall look we placed a chiseled white marble and brushed brass lamp along with a natural leafy green plant on the beautiful accent table.
We began with the use of shiplap on all of the interior walls to give a light coastal feel. An oversized abstract piece of art was placed in the space to give a bold statement and anchor the room. The color palette from the art was then placed on the fabric of the two driftwood finished chairs. To play off the driftwood chairs we introduced a modern driftwood ceiling fan. A wooden and metal table was placed between the chairs which were then completed by simplistic bold blue accessories.
