Transitional Guest Room
A 9ft. x 12ft. hand-carved, bold patterned wool rug was used for the foundation of this room, as well as the color palette. A warm brown sleigh bed and dresser were used to simplify the space. To add personality, a custom faux finish in gray and turquoise was applied to the nightstands. A simple, chocolate duvet with cream and brown euro pillows, and turquoise and zebra print accent pillows were added to complete the bedding. A high back swivel chair in a colorful, tight flame stitch accompanied by a octagon distressed wood and iron end table, completed the seating area. A crisscrossed canvas and leather hassock was added for additional seating and comfort. Placed over the bed was a vibrant, over scaled, silver leaf and turquoise hand painted art piece. Two bronze and capiz shell lamps with linen shades dressed the night stands. A mercury glass and straw lamp with a rattan shade adorned the octagon end table. Motorized roller shades with a metallic silver fabric addressed privacy issues. Draperies chosen in a bold cream, gold, and aqua added the last layer of luxury. Accessories were kept minimal but bold.
