A fantastic contemporary garden located in the heart of Ascot was designed by Garden Builders Design.

The original garden was predominantly laid to lawn with a tiny patio only suitable for a small table and chairs. The brief was to create a low maintenance contemporary garden with new dining areas for relaxing and entertaining.

This design works really well and splits the garden into two practical areas, one a formal dining area and the other a relaxing decking area with comfortable sofa seats ready for that morning coffee or evening glass of wine. We introduced some dark timber screening on various sides of the garden that works really well to accentuate the foliage colours of trees and shrubs, and in this case, sets off the silver grey leaves of the Olive tree and lime green leaves of the golden stem bamboo really well. The patio flooring was laid using blue grey granite which incorporated a strip of silver grey granite leading out from the back patio doors, drawing the eye towards the gnarly old Olive tree. The raised beds were clad with matching granite stone and a bespoke hardwood bench added further seating options to the garden.

Numerous light fittings made the garden come alive in the evening and we even had time to build some tiny steps to help an aging cat get out the garden.......we aim to please clients as well as their pets!
