Courtyard Garden Private Bank
This courtyard garden area, belonging to the headquarters of a major international bank, was designed by Stride Treglown Architects and constructed by the Garden Builders. The garden area was built over what is in essence the garage roof of the underground car park below. All the paving was laid using the Buzon Pedestal method in order to reduce the weight of the paving doing away with the need for a sub-base or sand/cement mortar bed. The Buzon system is also ideal for easy drainage when paving in these kinds of areas.
All the raised beds were constructed using light weight blocks and were rendered upon completion. Two varieties of paving were used, textured white sand stone and black granite. The feature curved seats were made from iroko hardwood. The planting was primarily shade tolerant. - See more at: http://www.gardenbuilders.co.uk/section/194/1/courtyard-garden-private-bank#sthash.lAby7QaR.dpuf
