This Urban Oasis in Guildford Surrey Borders was constructed and planted by The Garden Builders who were engaged by the designer Lynne Marcus Garden Design, to bring her design to fruition. The implementation of this lusciously green space began with dividing the garden in to three distinct areas. The garden is entered by a modest terrace of a polished concrete finish.

Powder coated-aluminium planters in an anthracite grey border the terrace and are densely planted with a mix of flowering shrubs and a limited palette of perennials. A raised decked pathway leads from the gleaming terrace to the hot tub area where an evergreen screen of Pyracantha provides privacy for the owners. The plethora of trees and plants in this garden provides a beautiful setting in which to enjoy from the water all year round. Opposite the hot tub a Griselinia littoralis hedge with low under-planting was used for screening, due to its drought-tolerant capabilities, traditionally used as a coastal evergreen plant.
