On this project we determined that the existing finish and door style were unworkable for our usual processes. We opted instead for a complete reface. Our local cabinet shop did an excellent job producing all new door, drawer, side panels and trim (they were all flawless). We then scraped and sanded the solid oak framework back down to raw, and restained them in this lovely gray with a frosty toner. The 10 degree sheen acrylic conversion varnish and the new hardware gives it a real contemporary feel
