Kirkland Ave Kitchen
Green Technology failed this customer. The white, water based cabinet paint the manufacturer used on these cabinets began to turn soft and peel on the heavy use areas. Mechanical removal of the coating was the only option left to us. I was strongly warned NOT to recoat over this finish. We removed all the painted finish back down to raw wood by soda blasting it off (sandblasting with industrial baking soda). A very difficult process. We recoated with pigmented conversion varnish, a brown glaze, and clear acrylic conversion varnish. A lovely result from a huge problem.
