Handicap Suite

A suite was added to the home for a semi handicapped person. While considering future tenancy, the suite was made desirable for any occupants. By keeping a clean footprint yet keeping defined areas of functionality, it provided a home setting of comfort for everyone.

Handicap suite

This suite was made with a wheel chair use in mind. Isle ways were intentionally given a wider birth for ease of movement between the rooms. The lay out of kitchen still provided ample storage and functionality for its owner.

A closet was made in the entrance with storage below for shoes and a mirror above. This allows the space to feel larger as well as gives this side a visual interest that pays of with functionality.

A door was made in a large hallway to allow for easy access to the patio.

The shower was made mindful of safety hand bars as well as supported a bench for ease of movement between the wheelchair and shower.

The handicap suite had a bathroom that also housed a laundry room in order to be self contained.

A new laundry room was created in another part of the home to allow for a great deal of storage and functionality for the whole family.
