Kenwood House
In this handsome, established neighborhood just outside Washington DC, we sought to build a restrained house at once compatible with its neighbors and maximizing the potential of its large, yet awkwardly shaped lot. Configured linearly, the house features stairs and service areas at the front, while the main rooms open onto expansive rear terraces and a walled garden. The wood-paneled library offers views onto the adjacent circular park, the symbolic center of the neighborhood.
