Stone Farmhouse

We designed this house to reflect the Northern Virginia neighborhood's modest scale while still accommodating the owners' growing family. It was designed as a simple stone farmhouse—sturdy and vernacular—with later “additions” to give the sense of being built over time. This narrative unfolds as the visitor turns up the private drive; the true size of the house is revealed only as one approaches the front door.
