From the start, this project was designed and inspired by clients who often work from home. The form was influenced by the need for a work space that felt separate from the house when clients visit, yet is still connected. The central entry acts as a welcoming entrance but it also acts as a divider between the public office space and the private spaces which are arranged perpendicular to the entry. This form allowed us to create a beautiful courtyard that is framed by the “L” shape of the house. The large sliders connect the inside with the outside resulting in a warm and private place to relax outdoors. Traditional farmhouses inspired the architecture of the house, with a modern twist.
