Villa Vertigo
Built on a dramatically steep sloped, narrow site, that has overlapping waterfront and rear setbacks, this site was deemed un-buildable with no allowable building footprint.
Synthesis Design was eager to take on the challenge of designing a modern summer residence at Madeira Park on the Sunshine Coast. After many design panels, relaxation request for variances, along with the design of a residential sewage treatment plant, approvals were granted.
Vertigo dramatically overhangs the ocean with large cantilevered decks, creating an extension of the living spaces through large garage style doors.
The interior design creates an open, casual elegance and promotes a sense of togetherness. A color palette of grays and white enhances the casualness, while creating a backdrop for the colorful vibrant blue and orange accessories.
While understated from the street, Villa Vertigo exposes itself from the waterfront. The roof opens up to the view in the opposite direction to the slope of the land creating and even more imposing facade than its 3 levels. Glass makes up most of the seaside elevation with uninterrupted views from every level.
Set in the picturesque Pender Habour, often called "Venice of the North," Villa Vertigo is a welcoming place for family and friends who often create their own adventures.
