Lily's Bathroom

This is one of our favourite ensuite projects. Fully custom cabinetry hides all sorts of details. And the new layout makes far more sense for the couple that uses this bathroom! AND we just won a design award for this bathroom project! DDA (Decorators & Designers Association of Canada) 2017 awards, announced April 24!

This wonderful mosaic insert in the shower area was custom designed and cut for the space, and adds a focal point to the bathroom. We chose extra clear shower glass so the colour of the tile would read true.

Top area has adjustable shelves, and two plugs inside to hide the charging toothbrush and razor, and keep them off the counter!

We made sure the width between the furniture legs of the cabinet would leave the homeowners with a spot to hide the bathroom scale! It tucks fully under the cabinet.

The shower was designed to accommodate a curbless install, so the floor was sloped down towards the linear drain. The glass was ordered in "extra clear" so as not to cast the typical blue-green hue that most shower glass has. We also ordered the anti-smudge glass, so squeegeeing is not as critical...

we made the shampoo niches tall enough and wide enough to accommodate the many hair care products, and added a shorter one above for the razor, loofah, soap, etc.

This custom mosaic caused a few headaches for the tile installer, (and the poor guy that had to cut and assemble all of these tiles!) but in the end, it was so worth it!

The toilet was chosen for it's clean, sleek lines, and the fact it is a one piece unit (easier cleaning!)

We angled the freestanding bathtub to give the space a bit more movement.

The chandelier over the tub was a must for this petite homeowner. She is not a big bath person, so wanted something pretty to look at as she entered the room. The art was a chance find, and gives the space a jolt.

The drawer directly beneath each sink is fixed. All other drawers are operable, and the bottom two drawers in the middle open as one wide drawer. Gives the homeowner lots of options for storage!

One of our happy trades, working on waterproofing the shower area. This poor guy would be smiling a little less once he got to installing the custom mosaic!

This was a busy day on site. Cabinetmakers were there finalizing the install of the vanity, the countertop arrived, and the shower glass guys arrived too! It was almost a clown car that day!

The window was changed, and the new vanity placed in the spot where this corner bathtub is shown. The toilet would move to where the door into the room used to be. The pedestal sink area is where the new shower moved to!

The shower had weird angles to it, so we decided to square off this corner and put the new bathtub here. Where the old corner bathtub was, we now have a linen tower and the new his and her vanity.
