Screen Porch, Deck and Storage
It was time to replace the existing side yard "walk way deck" that extended down the side of the garage and turned the corner into the back connecting you to the existing screen porch off the main level and connecting you to stairs and multi-level decks transitioning down to the lower backyard, play space, walk out basement...But it had all served it's time and each area was ok but just not really functional.
Widening the side deck to allow easy access to the expanded rear deck - large enough to grill and have a table and chairs for outdoor eating (weather permitting). The existing screen porch was completely replaced with all new pressure treated structure and framing - we were able to use the existing roof structure but everything else was replaced with composite materials. Incorporating removable screen panels with PVC stops gives a lot more freedom for multi-season use and great protection for those times when there just too many bugs out. Combining Wolf tongue and grooved composite porch decking inside the screen porch with Wolf composite slotted decking and the DexerDry system on the deck area - an added bonus "dry storage space" underneath the entire area. We enclosed the storage under the screen porch and left the storage under the deck a little more open for larger items. The goal was to maximize the function and use ability of each space and hopefully create a larger area for family gatherings for years to come. Such a fun family and such a fun project.
