Originally the Entry Door and Sidelite trim stopped at the door height. Detail Photo shows close-up of how the trims were extended to ceiling with wood panel infill.

Reclaimed redwood and reclaimed white painted cedar (from an old wooden water tower) were used in triangular pieces for the hand-made mirror frame and wooden box.

Custom Cabinetry with glazed finish designed around an existing side arched window. Color Palette through-out the house was based around Beige / Driftwood / Various shades of Greys, with pops of Color.

Detail of the Cabinetry around window, with custom dark grey back panels (which, for continuity, is used in other parts of the home). Owner's collection of chrome Art Deco pieces are mixed in with the owner's hand-made reclaimed wood pieces.

The existing Dining Area with dark floating floor planks and adjacent open beige tiled foyer. Adding to the visual clutter is an accent wallpaper which stops at the garage door (painted green) making the area seem even smaller than it already was.

12"x24" tile floors flow through-out and the previously wallpapered accent wall with green door now visually appearing as one long wall panelized in a modern version of the classic wood wall panels, and is painted a custom dark grey to blend with the adjacent dark grey kitchen backsplash tiles.

The vintage Saarinen dining table floats above the vintage Mies van der Rohe dining chairs, which were salvaged from the Standard Oil corporate board room in Chicago (reupholstered 30 years ago) with future plans for a lighter upholstery to contrast with the dark wall color.
