Contemporary Victorian

This 1890's Victorian home was recently purchased by my client, who had some existing furniture and artwork. I prepared Layouts to determine where existing furniture worked best, and from that developed a Design Package of new furnishings, rugs and artwork to complete the look. Existing paint colors remained.

Looking toward the breakfast bar. Pendant light adds a contemporary flair. White birch bark squares are used as placemats, restating the white and black color palette.

The custom zig zag 2-tone grey runner in Entry Hall was assembled on site, using carpet tiles.

I don't like to used a matched pair of night stands, finding it much more interesting if the night stands are similar but different. Then using a pair of lamps is fine. The mirrored night stand adds light / reflectance and can make a small room seem bigger.
