The purpose of this all Ipe deck was to make a transistion between the house and the pool.
This deck has been featured in a deck design book back in 2009 by Steve Cory.
5/4x Ipe decking is used and secured with exterior screws and Ipe plugs and finished with Penofin Marine oil finish (western red cedar) Ipe will eventually weather in a beautiful patina silver tone if left untouched.
A small mulch area is created to add some shrubs to soften this space between the pavers and the deck.
A canopy fabric is added above the seating area to block to sun and gives much needed relief while relaxing.
