Contemporary Lounge
A long-time client asked me to evaluate a large sunken planter in a wide hall within his office building and design to replant with "something that will grow" ... I suggested that to retain the planter in its current form would not be satisfying and that the area presented an opportunity for a fresh, useful and comfortable space for staff and visitors, taking advantage of the natural light provided by the three large existing skylights. It was appropriate to suggest an update that included seating, lighting and interest. I was influenced by coffee shop culture and Denver's remodeled Union Station as well as current office space design. Plant material will be contained within four cubes measuring 2' x 2' x 2'. Jerry Powell, PC Construction Group Inc. is constructing the space.
