This cottage situated in the Norhill historic district features a charming eyebrow eave that projects over the entrance. The front facade was left intact with its exposed brick chimney and gable. A plan was set in motion to stitch together a much needed addition and renovation of this house while preserving its historic character. After living abroad the owners were looking forward to welcoming their newborn in Houston in a redesigned cottage. The planning and construction occurred before their scheduled return with a series of collaborative meetings. Our design carefully cut the extraneous and collected the useful elements that would satisfy the current needs of the owner. The family-centric spaces hinge on versatile open areas that flow between the Living, Dining and Kitchen. A complete Master suite brought a much needed Master bedroom, closet and bathroom replete with shower and private toilet room. This newly re-imagined cottage is ready to accommodate its new family and its future needs.
