The owners had great aspirations for the corner of their lot that would normally house a garage. On the ground floor they wanted a garage of course, and more: work room, party room, pool house, play room. Quality finishes, along with a glazed wall opening onto a poolside porch enabled the ground floor to serve all of these functions. On the second floor they wanted a guest room/ music room/ exercise room/ home office, all connected by a bridge to their existing home. Skillful design of modestly scaled spaces with enough flexibility for overlapping functions at different times enabled all their goals to be fulfilled. The result is a garage that actually has transformed the way they live in their house.
