Here is a mid-century jewel that was ready for a new polish and an updated layout. Our client had a growing family and wanted more room and space for their children and flexible areas to entertain guests. We carefully carved a showpiece staircase that would lift the roof and create a shaft of light through the center of the house. A unique storage space under the stairs is designed to be a ventilated pet shelter that can comfortably house the family's two large dogs. A new Master suite with all the modern conveniences including an adjoining Office/Siting room was added. The existing interior walls were reconfigured to connect and expand the Dining and Kitchen. While the exterior back wall of the Dining and Kitchen was altered with the addition of new french doors to give wonderful views and access to the Covered Patio and backyard. The new Covered Patio is a comfortable outdoor sitting area that can easily transform into an extended dining space during celebrations. A new second floor features two more bedrooms, an ample bathroom and a Family room that captures natural light and gathers all its members in a quiet and private setting.
