This spacious West University house is a product of a family’s desire to design their own refuge. The idea of having several connected and communal spaces became the recurring theme during conversations with our client. As a large family of three growing boys they knew they wanted a house that continuously inspired interaction and communal play both indoor and outdoors. The Kitchen, Family, Dining and Mud rooms were designed to encourage daily family interactions and gatherings. At the front door, guests are greeted on a generous front porch and are visually prompted to explore and enjoy the collective spaces of the Living, Dining and Kitchen. The covered patio is conveniently next to the Kitchen and is designed to both attract, entertain and relax family and friends with a grand outdoor fireplace. A large play yard, and a paved running/biking path giving the boys ample opportunity for outdoor activities.
