Dhaba@49 Restaurant

DHABA @49

Year 2017
Location Maida Vale, London. UK
Project Hospitality
Area 175sqm

A dhaba originates from India, as a Punjabi roadside restaurant or street food truck. This is where the most popular food from Punjab can be tasted. It is said that “the dhaba moves wherever a Punjabi goes”.

This project wanted to bring Punjabi and London cultures together, with three different and sophisticated atmospheres full of colours related to the Punjabi food.

The use of classy velvet furniture surrounded by rustic copper elements gives Dhaba@49 an authentic but modern feel. The art work almost makes the inside look like the highway roads of where you could stop and buy food at a dhaba. The traditional bold and colourful truck is the main feature incorporated with other road side essential features.

Our signature screen detail defines the intimate spaces from public spaces within the restaurant.
