Hidden Springs II
The existing landscape was a builder special – the patio was too small and uninviting and the simple planting beds were uninspiring. My clients wanted to enhance the areas without taking away from the great surrounding views. The main goals were shade, larger sitting areas and year round color. An Alumawood shade structure was designed to add shade to a multilevel outdoor room. The upper level was TimberTech deck (Earthwood Plank in Teak) and the lower level was Pavers (Basalite’s Italian Renaissance). A vertical see thru screen fence was designed to add privacy, but not to screen any views. A small flagstone sitting areas was designed with natural stone slab benches. A flagstone access path was also installed. A mix of trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals and bulbs were designed to give the client year round interst. This project was installed in 2009 by Sterling Landscape and Boon LLC. In 2010 we designed the front yard to incorporate a large entry patio to read the morning newspaper or to just say hi to passing neighbors. A new Arizona flagstone path connected the new Basalite raised paver patio to the side yard gate. This path connects to the path that was installed last years back yard remodel. The concrete driveway was removed and Basalite pavers were installed to try and soften the ‘runway’ look of the plain concrete drive. The Front yard was installed by Sterling landscape and Boon LLC in 2010
