Hillside Drive

The Hillside Drive kitchen renovation has been completed according to schedule. The small "before" kitchen with the bearing wall (stove wall) removed, in the new layout offers an open floor plan conducive to family and friends gathering. The large island has much more storage than the clients had imagined!

The customer added this piece to get more storage out of their existing kitchen. This will be removed to make room for a pantry and refrigerator in the new layout.

The door to the downstairs wound up being removed when the client saw the better traffic flow and openness.

The far wall of the kitchen will be removed to open up to the existing dining room. There will be a new French door on the wall to the right (not shown in photo)

The bearing wall has been removed. The new columns supporting the new flush girder have been installed. Wood flooring has been woven into the existing flooring, which will eventually be all stripped, stained and refinished.

Diamond Vibe Cabinetry
After the bearing wall was removed, there was plenty of space for the island. The island houses the microwave drawer, garbage pullout, farmhouse sink, dishwasher and drawer base with silverware divider in top drawer.
