This family finished their home remodel and were ready to take on their backyard. They wanted a place to dine, reduced turf grass, room for their kids and dog to play, privacy, and barefoot friendly gravel. The yard slopes towards the house, so we used terraces to make living spaces. We also made sure to keep the flare of the tree at the appropriate level with a tree well within the pea gravel patio with a concrete paver walkway. Native and drought-tolerant plants surround and frame the spaces, giving texture, color, and screening throughout the seasons.
