Light + White Primary Bath
This next bath remodel was not just spawned by being outdated, but more so out of physical necessity. When the homeowner contacted me, she was adamant about redoing the bathroom before the end of the year, and for many intentional reasons. Despite the faux pink marble everywhere, it was a non-functional space.
So, I put on my designer therapy hat, and proposed a brand new layout where everything is designed for his ease, and her esthetic appeal!
She wanted her new bathroom to be very neutral, simple, pretty, and SELLABLE, because they foresee only being in this house for another 5-7yrs.
A lower profile soaking tub was a must have, along with a contemporary and clean landing deck for her spa salts and plants.
I incorporated a zero threshold shower, so the floor would remain seamless, and a custom commode to match their ergonomic requests.
So, lots of small, but very important details were incorporated into this reno. My goal was to nicely balance their customizations, without looking overly personalized to potential buyers.
For her, she just wanted modest luxury. heated floors and designed nooks for stocking her perfectly rolled towels. The perfect soaking tub where she could emulate a retreat at the spa, but everyday at home.
She wanted a little bit of bling, and that's where the fun chandelier and sweet polished nickel finishes came into play.
The story behind the crown molding is an interesting one at that! I did that intentionally to bring down the overall height of the peeked ceiling, creating a more intimate and cozy feeling.
I wanted to blend a little bit of contemporary with that sense of traditional, now understanding her taste better. The molding and baby pedestal feet whisper classic design elements, while the tile selection and lighting bring that subtle air of contemporary!
