Maximalist Primary Suite

Created for a BSA Decorator's Show House, this dramatic dark teal green bedroom provides a bold and exciting backdrop for the neutral custom crafted wood furnishings and the modern art.
Each piece of furniture was handmade by a local artisan combining maple and cherry. The bookcases are actually radiator covers and designed to allow the heat to pass through while providing storage, and functioning as bed side tables.

Chairs facing each other provide an intimate seating area at the foot of the bed. The large scale artwork "Don Quixote" by Zaza Khabuliani, provides a inspiring and whimsical touch to the room. Comfy Seating Area

The original furnishings were still in the house when we arrived for the Designer Walk-Through. The bed had been placed on the same wall as the entry door, definitely not the focal point of the room.

The bed was squeezed onto the wall opposite the windows with very small night stands because of the doorways from the main hall and the bathroom. This placement was extremely awkward and did not allow for an easy traffic flow through the room.
