See-through Soaking - Contemporary Primary Bath

Luxury renovation projects rarely begin as purely aesthetic pursuits—often, they are initiated by underlying functional challenges such as water intrusion, inefficient layouts, or inadequate environmental comfort. In this primary bathroom transformation, both technical issues and lifestyle needs became the catalyst for a complete reimagining of the space, turning a once cold and barefoot-unfriendly bathroom into a warm, spa-like retreat.

The design brief centered on creating a shared soaking experience, with a spacious, sculptural tub that comfortably accommodates two, encouraging relaxation, connection, and quiet moments of unwinding together. At the same time, the homeowners expressed highly individualized needs: she required a dedicated vanity space tailored to her preferred height and storage requirements, while he requested an equally defined and functional area, ensuring personal comfort and usability for both.

Additional design enhancements further elevated the layout. By reworking an exterior wall, a new private toilet compartment was introduced, improving privacy and spatial organization. A charming hexagonal window was incorporated to bring in natural light, softening the interior and adding an unexpected architectural detail that enhances the room’s spa-like atmosphere.

The corner shower was reconfigured to feel more open and contemporary, eliminating outdated constraints and improving both visual flow and daily usability. Each design decision was carefully layered to balance function, comfort, and luxury aesthetics.

Among the many standout features, the expansive open-footprint soaking tub and the whimsical statement light fixture above it emerge as defining focal points—together capturing the essence of the transformation: a space that blends practical problem-solving with elevated, emotionally resonant design.
